Dr. Mohamad Ali Hijazi received his B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Beirut Arab University in 2007 with high distinction and honors. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was awarded scholarships to pursue his graduate studies at BAU, where he obtained his master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He joined the Faculty of Pharmacy as a Lecturer in 2014, was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2017 and subsequently to Associate Professor and currently serves as Assistant Dean of the Faculty.

Dr. Hijazi has developed a multidisciplinary academic profile integrating pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy education, professional practice, public health, and health policy. Drawing on experience across community pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and research, he views education, research, professional practice, community engagement, and policy as an integrated cycle of impact.

As a mixed-methods researcher, his interests span natural products and drug discovery, phytochemical and biological evaluation, complementary and alternative medicine, pharmacy practice, public health, and digital health. His research emphasizes translating scientific evidence into professional practice, educational innovation, community interventions, and evidence-informed health policies to generate knowledge that serves society and strengthens healthcare systems.

His research identity is rooted in Natural Product Drug Discovery, which represents his success in research and innovation. Coupled to his research arm in evidence-based practices, he extended his work into epidemiological studies to ensure safe, effective, and responsible application. In addition to his strong arm in service to stakeholders and policy makers to ensure the proper translation of research findings into meaningful health policy, guidelines, and community services. In this way, he finds both purpose and impact.
